 * South London

2 Support staff in unit – 2-3 days shifts per week -Monday to Sunday – wages £112 per shift (shift timings 7 am to 3 pm and 2.30 pm to 10.30 pm)

2x Outreach reach Male and Female - outreach support worker – 35 hours – Monday to Friday – 9 am to 5 pm - £15 hourly rate

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide emotional and practical support to young people who are Looked After by the Local Authority. Undertaking a range of practical tasks; assisting with assessment and casework processes. To provide advice, support, and guidance to young people, and help empower young people to take more control over their lives to become independent. It will be 30-35 Hrs/Week, pro rota, with night shifts

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. To attend staff meetings, house meetings and office meetings.

2. Good report writing skills support staff in preparing reports.

3. Ensure weekly, monthly reports, review reports (or any relevant reports) are

done and sent over to management with in deadline given.

4. To ensure that all paper work are filled properly to YP’s file

5. To help maintain YP folder and relevant information is on the file.

6. To check files and folders on computer that everything is saved in proper

folder

7. To make sure all placement documents are signed at the time of new

placement

8. To ensure staff are working in line with the plans for the young person set out

in Placement Meetings, Reviews, Pathway Plans and that staff are achieving

desired outcomes.

9. To check GP etc. registration of all YP’s are completed within specific

timescales and information recorded and all other relevant paper work is

completed.

10. Ensuring staff are working in line with the organisation Policy and Procedures.

11. To help with the day to day running of the organisation.

12. To do regular checks on young people in their flats to ensure they are happy

with the services being offered.

13. To ensure regular Health and Safety Checks are carried out by staff

14. To inform management if any damage and repairs are needed to property and

the appropriate paper work is completed.

15. To be rotated on the organisations emergency out of hours call

16. To arrange event and activities for the YP.

17. Attend placement meetings and Reviews of young people and any other

relevant meetings that is required by the organisation to attend. 18.

19. To ensure all accommodation is prepared to a satisfactory standard before

young person is moved in to the property and all relevant items is provided.

20. IT literate

21. Knowledge of Children Act 1989 and revised edition 2004

22. Knowledge of the Leaving Care Act 2000.

23. Knowledge of safeguarding issues and working in partnership.

24. To ensure staff are able to pass down relevant information of young people

and are working in line with the company’s policies and procedures.

25. To have the ability to liaise regularly with social services and outside agencies

in relation to our clients.

26 To link with key agencies in the community that will benefit our young people.

27. To ensure Health and Safety policy is complied with.

28. To develop group working with young people

29. To conduct exit interview and to meet with young people to consult with them

the service they are receiving.

30. To help management to develop service further with new ideas or improved

working practices.

31. To help develop the team and staff to work more effectively.

32. To check First Aid box is up to date in all accommodation any item is required,

he should contact the head office immediately.

33. To be proactive and to contact the local authority of any concerns of the young

persons.

34. Undertake other duties as required by management, commensurate with the

post.

    What does a Property Maintenance and Engagement Officer do?

To contribute to the overall housing management (including supporting the repairs and property maintenance). Make sure the property is always clean and that appliances are in good working order. To provide related housing services to tenants including void management, repairs, allocations, and lettings. In addition, provide tenant related services in respect of complaints and anti-social behaviour. The engagement Officer will work on helping us to have more insight in to what our client’s young people what from the services e.g. how we can improve the services. The role will include newsletters/ attending some house meetings for YP to hear their view/tap into agencies in the community that will benefit our YP forming good links and advising what is available in the community for our clients to access. Help with organising events for our clients, of interest getting their view and feelings. Helping the organisation meet our social value requirements e.g. helping organise events to meet our social value e.g. help CV writing and talk to YP from schools etc in the community. Some admin duties will be required at times.

Who are we looking for?

A person with an Interest and motivation to work within property management with a twist. Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner. Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with young people, staff members, management team, and in group presentations and meetings. Must be creative and to think outside the box helps Us to engage better with the Young People we care for.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Maths or English Pass or a Functional skill level 1.

Role overview

  1.  Organising a system of recording reported building repairs and ensuring repairs are completed within agreed timescales.

  2. Identifying new properties for letting within the required location that are specified by the needs of the service

  3. preparation of license agreements

  4. Ability to liaise with different agencies in the community

  5. Greeting clients and visitors as required

  6. Providing new letters

  7. Linking into organisations in the community to support YP in leisure/substance misuse/counselling/mentoring/child criminal exploitation/child sexual exploitation.

  8. Undertaking house meetings with YP with support from Manager/Senior.

  9. Getting the views of YP so they can influence services delivered e.g. recruitment of new support staff etc.

  10. Support in helping the organisation to provide Social Value in their local community

  11. Help in providing accommodations that are homely etc in appearance ideas where items can purchased /furniture more cost effective.

  12. Support with help with activities in units and ideas of cost-effective ways of entertainment for YP e.g. activities in the community.

  13. Help to put on events for YP

  14. Support with general admin duties will be required at times

    Training and Development

You will be supervised by Senior you will receive training and have your personal development plan. This will be advised.
